On February 18th, a federal judge in Southern Texas blocked President Obama's Executive Action announced last November. The judge ruled on a case brought against Obama by 26 states. The judge spoke about making sure that actions of the "Executive Branch...comply with this country's laws and its Constitution." However, the judge did not actually discuss the constitutionality of the Executive Action. Judge Hanen's ruling was more specific to procedures that are usually followed when laws are made. To be specific, usually the public has time to object to laws if they do not agree, but Obama's Executive Action was announced in November and was to be implemented in February. There is a federal appeals court in Oklahoma that is supposed to decide the next step sometime in late March.
What do you think will be the decision of the Federal Appeals Court?

the cartoon is slightly racist but the point is logical to "some" people that there will be to many people that are not accounted for because there are illigal
ReplyDeletebut as far as the issue with the executive actions that's a little tricky considering that the executive branch has to comply with the country's constitution i guess that well see whats good in march... oh yea we are in march but then again why is it that people always have to butt heads over decisions made by a higher power of authority i get that they are nearer t the boarder and actually have to deal with the increase in population and a thinning in jobs
DeleteThe cartoon shows how white people in Texas reacted on president Obama's executive action last November, they feel like his decision did not comply with the country's laws and it's constitution.
ReplyDeleteI agree with David, the cartoon show sings of racist, but what I don't get is that why do Americans think like this, Americans think that we are taking their stuff but we are not, we are actually helping Americans because we are here to be successful. Americans also say that we are taking their jobs, but we are actually not, we are taking jobs that Americans usually don't do.Although Americans do make a point for immigrants taking over, but I the Black where able to get their freedom, why couldn't immigrants get their opportunities for getting papers. I do not agree on the judge in Texas blocking Obama because what I feel about that judge is that he really do not like immigrants the same way that Obama does. Everyone should agree on Obama because he is not going to give papers to any immigrant, he is going to help the young immigrants so that they could be legalized. I really do not see why the Americans don't what the young immigrants to be under protection of getting their parents being deported.
ReplyDeleteI understand where the judge is coming from , how the peoplee shoud be able to have the right to object if they dont agree. But he is obviously against it & it isnt surprising because mmigration is a ouchy topic & almost has their opinion on it. Immigration has its pros & its cons. Yes they might be filling up a few jobs but they are helping the economy alot. My oponion is everyone deserves to live wherever they want & live how they want. everyone deserves a chance, survival of the fittest!

DeleteObama is too busy trying to protect young immigrant children. too busy bringing about change that should have and been made years ago to consider a probational period which gives people to respond to his order. Republicans are just trying to postpone that kind of change that protects something not caucasian. Bush would declare war and republicans would support with no hesitation. Obama wants to help a group of immigrants, and republcans create a set back. Obama is a real one, because his main priority is to make presidential decisions that bring about CHANGE. Obama is like, when Beyonce dropped her album,,,, no warnings. no advertising. she DROPPED her album and obama dropped his executive order
ReplyDeleteThis racist the picture explains its all, but what i think is Obama wants to help the poor the young immigrants people willing to do the dirty jobs Americans would not do but we have blockers. The judge did not agree with Obama executive actions.
ReplyDeleteI think Obama is letting too many immigrants in. They take away jobs from Americans and don't even do them as well. If i go to a drive thru i want to be able to understand them. This is America, you should be able to speak English. We should still let some in, but just not anyone and not nearly as much.
ReplyDeletewho does your garden
Deletelololol u mad bro?
Deletei dont think this law will be passed.
ReplyDeleteI believe the federal appeals court will block Obama. Considering that the judge, Hanen, is blocked by 26 states, Obama will not have enough states supporting his decision.
ReplyDeleteHanen does have a point in saying that Obama should have followed a proper procedure before issuing the executive action. Allowing the president to make his own actions without the approval of his citizens does not follow democratic proceedings, disrupting the country.
I personally believe Obama should be allowed to continue, but he should do it properly as to gain the support of people who would go against him for not doing it properly.
make a judgment because we are all immigrants.hopefully this law passes soon i feel as if the judges decision was fair Obama did not follow rules and jurisdiction that being said we should not only point fingers at Mexicans or Latinos people get it twisted and assume everything is our fault take a look at yourself before u
ReplyDeleteI think that this judge is just delaying the inevitable, Obama will still probably get his way just a few months behind schedule though that is part of what the judge wanted more time so that people could voice there opinions on the law so I can see where he's coming from on that point though I still doubt he'll win the case or go to supreme court since they probably have other things that need there attention.
ReplyDelete"In laymen's terms, the district court held that the Obama administration didn't give the public enough warning about the new policy, or a period to object to it before implementing it." because of this i believe that they will give obama the right to do what he wants but later in time with the people are more informed
ReplyDeleteare today's immigrants different from 100 years ago ?
ReplyDeletethis pic says the same thing again Americans hating on immigrants because we do the jobs that they wont do and we try to make a living to support our family.
ReplyDeleteI strongly believe that this law should be passed and it will sooner than later. The comic is obviously racist, its not hard to figure out. Mothers should have the right to stay here especially if their child was born here and is a citizen.
ReplyDeleteI think this picture is racist. It shows how the people think about immigration. My personal opinion is this law should be passed because it protects parents who has supported their kids, and have worked harder than any other american in this country.
